Same thing with NFTs; the only difference is NFTs exist in the digital Web 3.0 world. Collectors valued NFTs more than anything!

Looking into the current trend, NFTs has become a trendy digital artworks among the collectors. Music, photos, artworks, design, and any digital thing can be NFTs! NFTs may seem to be simple artworks, even seen as a worthless thing for some. Yet, only the collectors know the worth of NFTs.

8. This Changed Everything by Sir Tim Berners-Lee

The video NFT titled “This Changed Everything” is the first world wide web’s source code. Valued as a historical artifact of the digital world, this NFT contains the timestamps of the documentation when the internet was born. It sold along with the letter written by Tim Berners-Lee, including the full-code digital poster. 

This Changed Everything NFT was sold in an auction by Sotheby’s at US$5.43 million to an anonymous buyer. Later on, a member of PleasrDAO, Scott Burke, spotted a mistake when the source code was typed up.


7. CryptoPunk #5217 by Larva Labs

Larva Labs is known for its pixelated NFT image among the collectors. This NFT is part of the 24 Ape punks collection with a knitted beanie and gold chain necklace. CryptoPunk was sold for US$5.45 million, and is currently not available for sale by its owner.


6. Ocean Front by Beeple

The art of the container-tree house built in the middle of the sea brings the message that climate change is happening now. This NFT was sold for US$6 million to Justin Sun, the founder of TRON, one of cryptocurrency platforms. Since the sale was under Nifty Gateway, the profits were given to Open Earth Foundation, a non-profit climate change organization. Profits of the Ocean Front NFT will be used to support the Paris Agreement plans, saving earth from climate crisis. 


5. Crossroad by Beeple

Crossroad is a video NFT about the US former president, Donald Trump on US President 2020 election. It shows the animation of Trump flat on his stomach with blasphemy written on his body after he lost the election to Joe Biden. This NFTwas sold for an anonymous buyer for US$6.6 million under the Nifty Gateway marketplace. The unique point is Beeple as the creator set the change of this NFT based on the election results. 


4. CryptoPunk #3100 by Larva Labs

Even though there is only one accessory, with a headband on its head, this is one of the alien NFTs series by Larva Labs that was sold for US$7.58 million in March last year. This NFTs is the only one of CryptoPunk that is currently put on a sale by its owner- at the price of US$132.96 million, tenth times than the original price. 


3. CryptoPunk #7804 by Larva Labs

The second highest of alien NFTs series by Larva Labs is CryptoPunk #7804, using a flat cap and cigar as accessories. This NFT was sold for US$14,988 in January 2018, then resold for US$7.5 million in March 2021.

2. CryptoPunk #7523 by Larva Labs

This NFT is currently the highest Larva Labs alien NFTs series ever sold. #7523 was sold at US$11.754 million to Shalom Meckenzie at Sotheby's “Natively Digital” auction. The NFT shows a pixelated-picture of an alien wearing medical masks, the only one among nine collections of alien series.

Beeple’s Everydays: The First 5000 Days is currently topped #1 as the most expensive NFTs ever sold. The reason behind its high price is because Beeple’s commitment on creating artworks everyday for 5000 days- since 2007. This NFT contains 5000 digital pictures by Beeple collaged to a one frame. Everydays: The First 5000 Days was sold at US$69.3 million to Vignesh Sundaresan from online auction held by Christie’s

Currently, NFTs are getting stronger since their value is going higher and higher everyday. This made NFTs promising opportunities for creators all around the world. The greater the behind, the higher its price.
